Anthem
 |
Caxton Printers 1954 |
Second hardcover printing. Near Fine book with light edge wear and
some soiling in the gutters, light page edge yellowing. In a Good to
slightly better black jacket that has general rubbing and fading of
the back panel, with edge wear and several closed tears, one inch
triangular chip with missing material at top front corner. Although
this story was first written in 1937, it was refused publication in
the U.S. It was published in England but did not appear in the U.S.
until it appeared as a pamphlet in 1947 produced by Pamphleteers,

“Brave New World.” Caxton produced at least 7 or 8 printings of this
title up through 1977. The 1953 and 1954 printings are quite
rare.
